We
need Help !! -
We have
2 Main Challenges.
1. How to get apples ? – who will provide them and who will
bring them to our location ?
2. How to dispose of the juice ? –we may not have enough,
but what if we have too much ?
( also 3. How to transport the crusher and shredder ? the PartnerCHIP
van is fine for this, but I am the only insured driver – we
may need to insure other drivers)
We also need
Volunteers
1. We need volunteers
of all types, shapes and size, though if we have a lot of volunteers,
we may need a volunteer coordinator
2. I am happy to do the Waste Reduction elements, but would like
another person to emphasise the Health Benefits, and perhaps other
volunteers to specialise in Schools, Churches, Community, etc.
3 . Help with publicity – we hoped to be in the Borough “Insight”
Magazine. I don’t like dealing with the press very much, but
in fact, I will grit my teeth and do it ! (I can do a website much
more easily)
4 . I would not myself envisage demonstrating the equipment in schools,
though others could (or churches)
5. Our marketing could be improved !
At the end of
it all, we will have a review meeting and hopefully
gather a committee and people to take on specified tasts for next
year, and to increase the amount we do.
From our experience
in 2010, we could do more events if we had a strong person to help
with driving, setting up the shelter, lifting equipment, etc, and
a talkative person to help deal with the public. With the present
volunteers, we could not countenance a major event, such as doing
the Saturdaz market in Epsom - the Thursday market is fine, but
the Saturdazy one is 5 times busier.
